Fill A House Campaign

In order to bring a little magic back into the Christmas season for local families and less fortunate children, Jandel Homes teams up with local businesses and community groups in order to achieve our goal of filling houses with donations of food and toys, at each of our Sales Centres.

2023’s Campaign: That’s a Wrap!

This year, the Fill a House campaign gathered an astounding 971 food items, 247 toiletries and articles of clothing and 231 toys. Additionally, the campaign raised an impressive $16,761, pushing the total funds raised since the charity’s inception in 2014 to over $140,000.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support.

What Is Fill A House?

Launched in 2014, the Fill a House Christmas Campaign is now an annual donation drive that Jandel Homes is incredibly proud to sponsor. Each year, we decorate our Sales Centres for the Christmas season, drop off collection boxes at various sponsor locations and set up our Sales Centres as donation drop off centers. We’ve hosted various events to help raise money for the Campaign, such as: Pancake Breakfast, Cocktail Reception and Silent Auction, Online Auction, Paint Night, Country Concert and Dance and the list goes on and on.

While each year’s campaign may look slightly different, our goal always remains the same – bring a little magic back to the holiday season for as many families as possible.

Beneficiaries of the Campaign

Although our beneficiaries of Fill A House have changed throughout the years, we are extremely pleased to say that all donations have stayed within the communities we serve and those in which our employees live and work.

The Morinville Marvelous Moms

The Morinville Marvelous Moms are is a voluntary group of moms within the local community who come together to assist those in need throughout the year. We’ve partnered with their Adopt A Family program, which assists families in Morinville and Sturgeon County during the holiday season. After hosting an annual cocktail reception and silent auction event along with collecting donations from the community, all is provided to the Morinville Marvelous Moms so they can continue with the magic. They have a group of volunteers who show up at one of our show homes to sort, wrap and deliver hampers to local families in need.

“Every Christmas season, the Morinville Marvelous Moms adopt as many families as we can that would usually go without to supply them with all kinds of things – food, toys and toiletries,” says Sarah Hall, Organizer of the Morinville Marvelous Moms’ Adopt A Family Program. She goes on to explain that the campaign means so much to her because it, “is the relief of knowing that you have a community that supports you and that there will always be people there that love you enough to pay attention and help you out.”

2018: Drop Off Location, Sorting Headquarters and $1,000 raised

All three of our Sales Centres acted as a drop off location for donations for the community and our employees.

The Morinville Marvelous Moms once again utilized one of our show homes as their headquarters for sorting, wrapping and organizing all the hampers for this year’s campaign.

2017: $15,166, 1,575 food/toiletry donations and 1,180 toy donations raised

Our 4th annual campaign was our biggest campaign yet! We expanded the Fill a House Campaign to three locations, including our newest development in Meadows of Morinville

In Edmonton, the donations are raised in support of the Stony Plain Kinsmen Club and Spruce Grove Kinettes Christmas Hamper Programs. In Grande Prairie, the campaign supports the local food bank and Big Country FM’s Big Toy Box Campaign. And, in Morinville, the campaign supports the Marvelous Moms’ Adopt A Family program.

A Special Performance

In addition to filling three homes, the campaign saw fantastic events put on in all three of our Sales Centers along with a special performance by country music recording artist Brad Sims. Brad’s free performance helped draw attention to our Grande Prairie campaign and had the cocktail reception guests dancing the night away.

2016: $12,500, 875 toys and over 2,200 food donations raised

We partnered with local businesses to fill one of our show homes in Edmonton and in Grande Prairie with donations of non-perishable food, cash and new unused toys in order to assist local families in need. The donations this year were raised in support of the Stony Plain Kinsmen Club and Spruce Grove Kinettes Christmas Hamper Programs and in Grande Prairie, the Campaign supported the regional food bank and Big Country FM’s Big Toy Box Campaign.

We introduced an option for sponsors to “Adopt A Room” within the house, taking on the challenge of filling that space with donations that their teams are able to raise.

New this year, we also offered an online auction in addition to our annual Cocktail Reception and Silent Auction to raise more awareness and proceeds for the Campaign.

2014 and 2015: $55,000 and 2,000 toys and 4,300 food donations raised

Our idea was born! We launched our first annual Fill A House Campaign at our Edmonton and Grande Prairie locations in order to bring a little magic into the Christmas season for those less fortunate.

We were lucky enough to have CFCW and Big Country come out to our Sales Centres for radio live on location during our Pancake Breakfast to promote our new campaign and get the word out to the community about dropping off donations to our Sales Centres.

We saw major support from our business community with our first cocktail reception and silent auction at our Edmonton and Grande Prairie Sales Centres.
