Factory-built homes are becoming increasingly popular in the housing market, offering a range of benefits over traditional site-built homes. This blog post aims to reintroduce factory-built homes, explain their differences from site-built homes, and highlight their various types and benefits. Let’s dive in!
What are Factory-Built Homes?
Factory-built homes are constructed in a controlled environment within a factory, then transported to their final location for assembly. This method differs from site-built homes, which are constructed entirely at the final location. Factory-built homes go by different names, like modular homes and Ready To Move (RTM) homes, but they’re all basically the same thing. They’re all built to the same stringent building codes and are just as good, if not better, than homes built right on the site. We’ll go over the different terms people use for these homes below.
